Hello, today I'd like to share a wall decor that I made for my daughter Natalie using her sea shell collection she got on our summer vacation at Atlantic City. This is also my last tutorial for Faber-Castell as a guest designer, I hope you enjoy my tutorial as much as I enjoy creating it.
To start the project, cover the 6.5" X 9" wood panel with a layer of Gesso then use Palette Knife to spread the modeling paste around the edges.

Mix Gelatos with water in a small container.

Paint the Gelatos color mixture around the edges using brush pen. This beautiful color really reminds me of the wonderful beaches on our vacation.

Apply the Gelatos directly on the edges of the wood panel then use a wet brush to highlight the edges.

After cutting the images from the patterned paper, paste the images on the background using Gel Medium.

Drip the Gelatos color mixtures randomly using Drip Dropper.

To add some more textures, dab some dots with Gesso using Dot Dabber after attaching the sea shells using a hot glue gun.

The final step is covering the whole piece with Glaze to protect the surface and make a beautiful sheen.

It's time for kids to say good bye to summer and go back to school. I hope Natalie will remember those great moments during our vacation in summer 2013 through this wall decor.

I also hope this project inspires you to make something beautiful for this summer using these techniques and wonderful Faber-Castell products. If you'd like to see the supplies I used on this projects, please check Faber-Castell blog. Thank you for reading. Have a great day!! :)
