Celebrate－Simply Paper Crafts

Hello, my dear blog friends, welcome back! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Did you know that Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge blog has moved and had a new name? We are now Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenges but will still focus on the vintage, grungy, shabby, and funky side of the paper crafting world. We also have new design team members join us this week and this is going to be so much fun!

Simon Says Stamp and Show started the challenge blog three years ago, and now is still issuing weekly challenges and enjoying sharing creativity with all our wonderful crafters today! To celebrate, we are having a birthday inspired challenge this week! From balloons to cake, parties in general to birthdays in particular – the theme is one of celebration.

I was inspired by the theme and made this layout on the canvas for my son's 7th birthday.

It's our family tradition to celebrate kids' birthdays on birthday trips. This photo was taken on Christopher's 7th birthday. I cut and pasted a piece of designer paper from Bo Bunny Country Garden collection on this 8" X 10" canvas and sprayed the background with Heidi Swapp Color Shine.

The background also was covered with a thin layer of modeling paste on the edges. Then I decoratd the canvas with lace, Prima flowers, letter stickers and sequins.

Some beautiful Tim Holtz die cut Gadget Gears and Tim Holtz Idea-ology Baubles Pearls were glued around the photo. I also added stitching on the banners to make some interest. It's always so great to see kids smiling face and keep those beautiful moments.
